Spartivento cape is at about 5 km SW of Chia. The granite promontory is 66 m above sea level.
Passing the fort you should be wary of two shoals covered with 3.5 m and 11.5 m near the E.
E cape is the beautiful beach of Portu Simoni Gibudda, call cala Cipolla. W are the rocks called "i Padiglioni" and the "Isolotti Ferraglione".

Capo Spartivento se trouve à environ 5 Km au SW de Chia. Le promontoire de granit monte jusqu'à 66 m.
En contournant le fort il faut se méfier de deux hauts-fonds couverts de 3,5 m et 11,5 m à proximité dans l'E.
A l'E du cap se trouve la très belle plage de Portu Simoni Gibudda (appelée Cala Cipolla). A l'W se trouvent les rochers dits " i Padiglioni" et les "Isolotti Ferraglione".

Passando il forte dovrebbe diffidare di due banchi coperti di 3,5 m e 11,5 m nei pressidella E.
Ad est del capo si trova la bellissima spiaggetta di Portu Simoni Gibudda, nota come Cala Cipolla. Ad ovest si trovano gli scogli detti "i Padiglioni" e gli "Isolotti Ferraglione".
Capo Spartivento. The lighthouse was built in 1866. It consists of a building 19 meters high, above which stands the lighthouse, structure covered by a Faraday cage. The building was in poor condition, and was renovated in 2006.

Cala Cipolla is just S of Chia bay and before Spartivento cape. An islet separated from the mainland by a narrow isthmus is an ideal base to anchor, even for the night.
It is well protected from the winds (NW and E) and offers good anchorage by 4/5 m.
The Padiglioni are 4 rocks of steep granit separated by channels where circulate occasionally strong currents. Rocks provide shelter from the N winds and Sirocco, if they are not too strong.
