It is the largest island of the archipelago composed of sixty islets and 7 major islands, in the NE end tip of Sardinia. It is mountainous and arid. This is the only inhabited island thoroughly. It is connected by a bridge to Caprera island where are the house and the tomb of Garibaldi. It is also connected by a road to Giardinelli islet.
Its coasts are fairly inaccessible outside the main harbor and 2-3 moorings in its NE.
The SE of the island of La Maddalena is prohibited to boating and reserved for the army. It is a pass with beacons between Arsenal dam and San Stephano island.
The port offers a basin, la cala Gavetta, where boaters can dock.

C'est l'île la plus importante de l'archipel composé d'une soixantaine d'îlots et de 7 grandes îles, à l'extrémité NE de la Sardaigne. Elle est montagneuse et aride. C'est la seule île peuplée abondamment. Elle est reliée par un pont à l'île Caprera où se trouve la maison et la tombe de Garibaldi. Elle est reliée à la petite île Giardinelli par une route.
Ses côtes sont assez inaccessibles en dehors du port principal et de 2-3 mouillages dans sa partie NE.
Le SE de l'île de la Maddalena est interdit à la plaisance et réservé à l'armée. Passage balisé entre la digue de l'arsenal et l'île San Stephano.
Le port offre un bassin, la cala Gavetta, où les plaisanciers peuvent faire escale.

E 'l'isola più grande dell'arcipelago composto di 67 isole e di 7 maggiori isole, all'estremita NE della punta Sardegna. Si è montuosa e arida. Questa è l'unica isola abitata accuratamente. È collegata da un ponte all'isola Caprera in cui ci sono la casa e la tomba di Garibaldi. E' collegata anche all'isolotto Giardinelli da una strada.
Le sue coste sono abbastanza inaccessibili al di fuori del porto principale e 2-3 ormeggi nel suo NE.
SE dell'isola di La Maddalena è vietato al diporto e riservato per l'esercito. C'è uno passo con meda tra la diga del'Arsenal e l'isola di San Stephano.
Il porto dispone di un basino, La Cala Gavetta, dove i navigatori possono attraccare.
