À environ 600 mètres de la rive, il faut faire très attention à un petit haut-fond qui effleure à peine l'eau et dont il faut se tenir bien au large. Les fonds marins dans cette zone sont faibles, autour de 5 m, et tombent rapidement à environ 25 m.
Même la petite île de Genia, qui émerge près du centre de la grande baie à l'ouest des Colonnes, est certainement le résidu du fonctionnement énormes et inlassable des vagues. En fait les fonds se présentent comme d'énormes rochers entassés qui fournissent un abri sûr aux bars, courbines et vivaneaux.

pelo d'acqua, dalla quale bisogna tenersi bene al largo. I fondali in
questa zona sono bassi, intorno a 5 metri, e scendono rapidamente a
circa 25 metri.
Anche l'isolotto del Genia, che emerge quasi al centro della vasta insenatura ad ovest delle
Colonne, è sicuramente il residuo del formidabile ed instancabile
lavorio delle onde: infatti i fondali si presentano con enormi massi
accatastati che offrono ricovero sicuro a spigole, corvine e dentici.
Punta delle Colonne, S end of S. Pietro island. It is is the most southern tip of the island, and it marks the beginning of the rocky part of the island. In fact, although not higher than 20 meters, the walls of rocks fall into the sea with an impressive verticality.
Mezzaluna gulf is between Grossa point and Buemarino point, W of Genia. This beautiful gulf is surrounded by red rocks 30/35 m high. In the fissures of the rocks we can see the entrance of the caves.You can anchor in 12 to 14 m in the middle of the bay.
Punta Nera, S Caloforte, so named because of its dark color of its rocks. It is characterized by shallow water and flat land cultivated, dotted with white houses.
Spalmatore Grande Baia is between Spalmatore di Fuori Point and Dei Cannoni Point. In the bay, at Starboard on entering, is a small cove called Caletta. Anchor in 3 to 10 m.
