Punat is a well-known shipyard for building wooden ships and is one of the largest tourist marinas on the eastern coast of the Adriatic. The monastery on the small island of Kosljun hosts numerous cultural events throughout the year, particularly in the summer season. The marina is well equiped and offers a lot of services. Charter companies allow to rent sailing or motor boats.

Punat se situe sur l'île de Krk liée au continent par le pont. La ville se trouve au sud-est de la baie pittoresque de Puntarska Draga, et à 3M de la ville de Krk. Située au sud de l'ile, dans l'une des plus belles criques de l'Adriatique. Le village et la marina sont sur la rive droite. Il y a plusieurs mouillages agréables dans la baie autour de l'île centrale. Mouillage possible au nord de la baie par 7m de fond. On peut aussi s'amarrer au quai de la ville, qui est géré par la marina, mais il n'y a ni eau ni électricité. Une fois à l'intérieur, la protection est totale. L'entrée de Puntarska Draga est située dans l'angle NE de la grande baie de Krcki Zalijev. Pour l'entrée dans la passe bien serrer les 3 balises vertes et non la rouge, le tirant d'eau étant limité.

Kanal Vela Vrata connects the N end of Kvarner to Rijecki Zaliv and leads between the N end of Otok Cres, on the E side, and the mainland coast, on the W side. The channel is deep and clear, the bottom being formed of mud.
Rapski Kanal is deep and leads between Otok Sveti Grgur and Otok Rab. This channel is seldom used as the fairway is only 0.3 mile wide in places and several rocky patches lie adjacent to its S side.
Tihi Kanal, 3 miles long, connects the NW end of Vinodolski Kanal to Rijecki Zaliv. The channel is deep and tortuous and leads between the mainland and the NE end of Otok Krk.
