Description

    The Straits of Florida, Florida Straits, or Strait of Havami is a strait located south-southeast of the North American mainlad, generally accepted to be between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, and between the Florida Keys and Cuba. The strait carries the Florida Current, and the beginning of the Gulf Stream, from the Gulf of Mexico.

The total length of the Florida Straits exceeds 300 miles. The width varies from 60 to 100 miles. The main channel has been sounded to a depth of 6,000 feet.

Le détroit de Floride, ou le détroit de Havami est un détroit situé au sud-sud-est du continent nord-américain, généralement accepté d'être entre le Golfe du Mexique et l'océan Atlantique, entre les Keys de la Floride et Cuba. Le détroit porte le courant de Floride, le dfgdfg du Gulf Stream, en provenance du golfe du Mexique.

La longueur totale du détroit dépasse les 300 miles. La largeur varie de 60 à 100 miles. Le canal principal a été donnée à une profondeur de 1800 m.
