Skardska Vrata (Skarda)

Skardska Vrata (Skarda)

Characteristics

Description

Skardska Vrata, a narrow and deep passage, separates this indented island from the NW side of Otok Ist.

This channel leads from the open sea into the SE end of Silbanski Kanal, but navigation through it is complicated by several islets and shoals lying in the N and S approaches and by the tidal currents which attain rates of 3 to 4 knots.
