Description

The village of Erbalunga, situated 1.5 miles SSW of Capo Sagro, stands on the S side of a rocky point; an old tower in ruins stands on the extremity of the point.
A prominent convent is situated close N of the village and the isolated belfry of the church at Brando stands 0.8 mile WNW of it.

Village de pêcheurs considéré comme un petit coin de paradis offert au soleil sur une pointe rocheuse à l'extrémité de laquelle se dresse la base d'une tour génoise du XVIe siècle, l'une de ces tours de guet qui ponctuent la côte.
Cette petite marine de la commune de Brando aligne ses vieilles maisons à fleur d'eau, sur une pointe de schiste vert.
Ce fut, avec Cardo (Bastia), l'un des principaux lieux d'approvisionnement en vin des pisans, dès le 12ème siècle.

Erbalunga est le berceau de la branche paternelle de l'écrivain Paul Valery (1871-1946).

Le petit port abrite quelques bateaux de pêche et de plaisance aux couleurs vives. Il attira bon nombre de peintres dans les années trente.
L'église Sainte Erasme, qui s'élève sur une terrasse à l'entrée du village, abrite les croix portées par les pénitents de la semaine sainte. Saint Erasme est le patron des marins. Fête le 2 juin avec procession et bénédiction de la mer.
