Otok Solta is an island in the Adriatic of Croatia and a municipality located in Dalmatia, in the County of Split-Dalmatia. It is the smallest of the inhabited islands of Croatia (16 km long and 3.5 km wide). Seven islands in front of Maslinica attached to it.
The island is located on the Dalmatian coast opposite the city of Split and is part of an archipelago which includes the eastern islands of Brac and Hvar and West Drvenik.
Part E of the island is rocky and W is covered with brush. The main town, Grohote is inland. The nearest port is in Grohote Rogac.
Its name comes from the Greek original Olynthus (unripe figs), but it is sometimes closer to the Latin Solenta which means the "Island of the Sun." The age of the population is proven, and the island has hosted fishing of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in Split then installed.

Otok Solta est une île de l'Adriatique et une municipalité de Croatie située en Dalmatie, dans le Comitat de Split-Dalmatie. C'est la plus petite des îles habitées de Croatie (16 km de long sur 3,5 km de large). Sept îlots en face de Maslinica lui sont rattachés.

L'île est située sur la côte dalmate en face de la ville de Split et fait partie d'un archipel qui comprend notamment à l'Est les îles de Brac et de Hvar et à l'Ouest Drvenik. 

La partie E de l'île est rocheuse et l'W est couvert de broussailles. Le villa principal, Grohote, est dans les terres. Le port le plus proche de Grohote est Rogac.

Son nom original vient du grec olyntha (figue non mûre), mais il est aussi parfois rapproché du latin Solenta qui signifie l'« Île du Soleil ». L'ancienneté de son peuplement est attestée et l'île a accueilli des pêcheries de l'empereur romain Dioclétien alors installé à Split.
