It is part of great Nicobar group of Islands. It has thick growth of commercial vegetation.
The inhabitants from nearby Kondul and Little Nicobar islands visit the islet. They have planted  the Coconut and Arracknut trees on this islet. 

The light provides much needed assistance to local fishing boats as well as the vessels sailing on Campbell Bay - Port Blair route.

The island hill is perpendicularly rising from sea on Western side. Only a small stretch of beach on eastern side serves as landing point for the boats.
