Flag_En A very wide opening into the lagoon lies between Numara and Fivaku, about 9 miles ESE. Fivaku is densely populated with 975 people per km2.

The barrier reef then extends about 13 miles SSE from Fivaku to the S end of a detached reef on which lies the island of Farukolu, with Furnadu on the S part of the reef.

Fivaku has no distinct temperature seasons, the temperature is relatively constant during the year. The temperatures do not differ much between day and night.
